Are there side effects from a SilkPeel treatment?
Skin may appear pink or red immediately following the procedure but this is only temporary and lasts approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour post procedure. When treating the lips or areas around the mouth in patients who have a history of Herpes Simplex (cold sores) the procedure may elicit an outbreak.

How long do the results last?
Skin treated with SilkPeel is 70% more volumized for up to 72 hours following the procedure. This means the skin is smoothed, plumped, hydrated, and healthy.

How many SilkPeel treatments are required to see results?
Most skin care professionals recommend a series of 4-6 SilkPeel treatments for best results.

Can I get other aesthetic treatments while receiving SilkPeel treatments?
Yes, you can have injectables (fillers, Botox ® ), chemical peels, Photofacial/IPL, laser hair removal while receiving SilkPeel treatments. You can get a SilkPeel immediately before injectables to help prep and hydrate the skin but you must wait two weeks after getting injectables before getting another SilkPeel.

What happens during a SilkPeel?
Before getting a SilkPeel you will wash your face with a special cleanser in order to remove any and all makeup and excess oils. Patients who are using topical retinoids like Tazorac, Retin-A or Tretinoin must stop these medications for 3 days prior to and 3 days after the procedure.

After you are prepped, your dermatologist will glide the pen-like tip of the SilkPeel Dermalinfusion machine over the treatment area. Once the procedure is done a special sunscreen, lotion and/or brightener cream will be applied to the area.

What must I do after getting a SilkPeel?
There is no downtime after a SilkPeel! Your skin may look slightly flushed or red but only lasts approximately 30 minutes to an hour after the SilkPeel.

Insurance coverage: SilkPeels are considered a cosmetic treatment. Insurance does not cover the cost of cosmetic treatments.
